Congenital Heart Defects

This disease develop before birth and it can occur in the heart chambers, valves or in the blood vessels. A small baby can be born with only small or minor defect which may not be need any medical therapy but in some cases it is necessary for treat before it get worse. Others types of congenital defect are life threatening, either in the new born children or overtime.

Type of congenital heart defects:-

    • Aortic Valve Stenosis (AVS)
    • Atrial Septal Defect (ASD)
    • Coarctation of the Aorta (CoA)
    • Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD)

Risk Factor of Congenital Heart Defect:-

Symptoms & Diagnosis of congenital heart disease

Congenital heart defects are often diagnosed in infancy or even before birth. But some defects are harder to detect than others and may not be diagnosed until much later in childhood or even adulthood.
Surgeons will take your medical history and perform a physical examination. We may also order an ECG, chest x-ray, 2 D Echo and some blood test.

For the children, severe heart disease becomes evident during the few months of birth. Some babies are blue and very low blood pressure shortly after birth. Others defects causes breathing difficulty, feeding problems, or poor weight gain.
